Sehome Athletics Website— Updates from all sports

As with many districts in the rest of the state, high school athletics here in Bellingham are scheduled to be held in three short seasons beginning on February 1st, 2021, following guidance from the Washington Interscholastic Athletics Association (WIAA).

Sports Specific Guidance

WIAA Season 1 “Fall”  Staggered Start Dates

  • February 1st:  Cross Country, Girls Swim, Cheer, and Football
  • February 8th:  Girls Soccer, Slowpitch Softball, Volleyball

WIAA Season 2 “Spring” Anticipated Start Date

  • March 22nd:  Girls Tennis, Fastpitch Softball, Track & Field, Baseball, Boys & Girls Golf, Boys Soccer, Lacrosse, Rugby, Sailing, Unified Soccer

WIAA Season 3 “Winter” Anticipated Start Date

  • May 9th:  Boys & Girls Basketball, Girls Bowling, Boys Swim & Dive, Boys Tennis, Gymnastics, Boys & Girls Wrestling, Cheer, Unified Basketball

Online Registration

Families, along with your student athlete, need to complete an athletic registration form each year. This may be done through Final Forms. In addition to the forms, the student will need a current sports physical on file.

A benefit of the online registration is that your information is saved making the process easier when registering for athletics next school year. This also allows the athletics and activities office to verify that all forms are turned in prior to the first practice ensuring your student will be able to participate. Computers are available for families with limited internet access and you may call the athletics and activities office at (360) 676-6470 x5201 for support while filling out the online registration. In addition to the forms, your student will need a current sports physical on file.


  • After completing Final Forms, your student will need to be cleared for each sports season at their school’s activities office before they can participate in any sport.
  • A current sports physical exam (form), which cannot expire during the sport season, is required for the student to participate in athletics.

ASB Card

1st Semester $40.00 / $20.00*

2nd Semester $20.00 / $20.00*

*Denotes fees for students who have completed the necessary paperwork and are approved for Free or Reduced Lunch.

All students are required to have a current ASB Card to be a member of a team or club. Some teams and clubs may have additional fees; information will be provided by the coach or advisor. There are no athletic participation fees. Some sports may still have additional fees for other needs (such as uniforms, equipment or travel). We will keep reducing and eliminating as many fees as possible as we move forward, especially from bell to bell (beginning to the end of the school day). For activities that happen beyond the school day, we will continue to need our community’s financial support and help to provide equitable opportunities for our students.
